Our Young Women in STEM and the Young Men in STEM programs have openings for high school-aged students (just finished 8th – 12th grades) who are interested in science and outdoor adventure to join us for a 3-day journey on the Great Lakes aboard our Schooner. The trip gives participants a chance to examine the ecology of the Great Lakes using professional limnology equipment, and to design and carry out their own research projects. All the while participants take turns as crew to sail and navigate a traditionally rigged sailing vessel.
Eligibility: The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars program is available to female high school students in Michigan. Summer Scholars are academically high-achieving students who will be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2016. Most Summer Scholars will be entering 11th or 12th grade.
Spend the summer on a college campus with a scholarship from the Joyce Ivy Foundation.
