      Job Description

      Internal Applicants:      Submit an application packet directly to the Superintendent

      Internal Deadline:         July 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

      Posting Deadline:         REVISED: July 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. (E.O.E.)

      Starting Date:               Beginning with the 2019/2020 school year

       

      QUALIFICATIONS:    

      1. An advanced degree, Masters or higher, from an accredited institution with emphasis in educational leadership, school administration, curriculum or other related field.
      2. Valid state certificate to practice as a school principal, or completion of a school administrator’s continuing education requirement.
      3. Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
      4. Successful teaching and administrative experience required.
      5. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and community.
      6. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in teamwork and collaborative working relationships.
      7. Working knowledge of teacher evaluation and teacher mentoring/coaching.
      8. The strong desire to achieve outstanding results in a short amount of time.
      9. The ability to motivate others and influence their behaviors.
      10.  The talent to foster collective responsibility and ownership for greater student achievement.
      11.  The talent to build a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork and accountability
      12.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education many find appropriate and acceptable.
